why this blog?

I love to write.  I'm hoping that you love to read.  Ideally, the "life of zach and court" blog will serve several purposes.

First, I want to continue to hone whatever writing skills I may have, and discover where my strengths and weaknesses lie.  The best way I know how to improve at something like writing is to simply do it more.  So, this is me writing more.

Second, I want to grow in my understanding of life, the world, and God's role in it all.  You may not agree with everything you find on this blog every single time, and that is OK.  Just know that I by no means even come close to having stuff all figured out, nor would I ever claim to.  Quite the opposite actually.  In-fact, sometimes it seems that with each passing year, the questions multiply and I realize that God and life become more complex and beautiful than I ever imagined.  In the midst of the lingering confusion and wonderings, I find that writing offers clarity, relief, the opportunity to ask questions, and an outlet to dream big.

Third, and last I promise, I believe in the power of story.  To boil it down simply, I think that we all long to spend our lives chasing after experiences that will result in stories worth telling.  Good stories need to be told, and that's why I love to write.
